Scarecrow Competition/Exhibition
24 February 2011
- 05 March 2011
This is an event open to anyone who wishes to take part to bring out their creative talents by making a SUSTAINABLE SCARECROW for our orchard!
The brief is to construct a scarecrow using sustainable methods and materials - think organic / recyclable / local - to make a scarecrow that will be able to take up residence on the Orchard over the 2011 Mercury Bay Art Escape.
Your work will sit alongside the wonderful Exhibition of Art Works by Make it Mahi - Jacob Sims and Hazel Saunders being held at the Orchard as part of the MERCURY BAY ART ESCAPE weekend. The scarecrows could be traditional, whimsical, comical or whatever you like!
Have fun and give your scarecrows a personality and a name. Judging will be by peoples choice and done during the Art Escape.
PRIZE GIVING will be held at 3pm on the 5th March, at the Sausage Sizzle, to be held at the ORCHARD main house around the pizza oven. All are welcome to attend. Prizes will be a surprise! Registration for this event is free.
